BASICS
The airport is 12 miles (19 km) west of downtown New Orleans. The airport's Web site has:
TAXI
Taxis will cost $21 to the central downtown area. If you have more than 2 people in your group, there will be an additional charge for the 3rd and 4th person, about $8 each. Travel time about 30 minutes, up to 60 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours.
BUS
The Airport Shuttle Express buses leave frequently from the lower level just outside of the baggage claim area. The mini-buses will take you right to your downtown hotel. Travel time is about 45 minutes, longer during the rush hours. The fare is $10.
RENTAL CAR
All major rental car companies are represented at the airport.
